Morocco, land of contrasts – unmissable experiences
September 2, 2025Forte dei Marmi – the place to wear Armani sunglasses in summer and ride a vintage bike through the centuries-old pines!
There’s a place on the map of Italy where refinement is not shouted but felt. Where the sand looks like fine powder and the sea is the perfect shade of dolce far niente. Forte dei Marmi is not just a luxury resort – it’s a state of mind. A subtle blend between the tranquility of a seaside vacation and the discreet hum of bicycle wheels passing under scented pines.
We arrived in Forte dei Marmi just as June had turned on all its spotlights. It was so hot that even the umbrellas seemed to seek shade.
The downtown streets smelled of expensive suncream and hot pine, and the Dior and Gucci shop windows sparkled like jewels under the Tuscan sky. In front of the Louis Vuitton boutique, a fragrant and cool mini universe awaited its customers with couture ice cream. Of course, I tried it, but I can say that it wasn’t the best ice cream I’ve ever had, rather basic.
Along the wide boulevards, lined with palm trees and elegant pavements, as well as bicyclists with baskets casually held aloft, are designer boutiques in a string: Gucci, Prada, Moncler, Dior, Diesel, Prada, Moncler… each window telling a visual story of style and exclusivity.
In the evenings, the heat became complicit. The sidewalks remained hot, but the terraces filled with beautiful people, prosecco-flavored stories and the slow pace of the perfect vacation.
And since in a place like Forte dei Marmi, beauty always goes hand in hand with taste, the next natural stop was lunch. I’ve long wanted to try Crazy Pizza restaurant, where the atmosphere is vibrant and fun – retro decor, rhythmic music, and if you’re lucky, you can watch a pizza-flipping show at the table. It’s the perfect place if you want a dinner with good energy and laughter.
Another experience, this time elegant and refined, was at Restaurant Gilda. We dined directly on the beach, with our feet in the sand, very good food and very friendly staff.
It’s also the perfect place to ask your better half to spend their whole life with you. We witnessed our friends at this wonderful event. Our friend – nervous, but with that smile that betrays certainty – got up from the table, looked her in the eyes and told her exactly what she needed to 🙂 The proposal came simply, sincerely, in the slow pace of the evening – and she, of course, said yes. A meal that became a memory, with a discreet ring between clams and glasses of prosecco.
That’s how stories are written in Forte dei Marmi – unhurried, tasteful and under skies that always seem ready for happiness.
The last evening, we ate at Osteria Teramare, located right in the heart of the historic center of Forte dei Marmi (Via Duca d’Aosta 13), where we had a very good meal.
We had lunch at Antico Vinaio – a huge, warm and flavorful panino. The kind of sandwich you don’t forget, even if it gets your shirt a little dirty.
The beach in Forte dei Marmi is a typical collection of “bagni” – elegant beach clubs that transform the golden sand into a scene of stylish relaxation. I haven’t seen such fine sand for a long time and a smooth entry into the clear, refreshing sea water. Absolute relaxation!
After sunset, life begins in a different register: restaurants are filled with whispers in Italian, Russian sounds like a luxury vacation, and French is spoken with red lipstick. Cocktails flow at Twiga, discreet dancing at La Capannina, and those who prefer peace and quiet will find it on the seafront, amid the shadows and the smell of pine.
A vacation in Forte dei Marmi is not just a vacation, it’s a delight for the senses – a place where everything is designed for comfort, style and pampering. It makes you slow down and truly enjoy every moment.
I’ll be back here?…. for sure! Because Forte dei Marmi doesn’t impress you, it seduces you. It doesn’t overwhelm you, it pampers you. And because once you’ve experienced summer here, all other vacations will just seem… repeatable.
Travel, live, love… with salty air, slow bikes and a splash of prosecco, like in Forte dei Marmi!
